When I grow up, I would like to be a .......

Sorry for not updating my blog, bukan sengaja tau. O.k, today I would like to talk about ones 'AMBITION' or 'CAREER'. I still remember when I was in kindergarten, the teacher asked:-

Teacher: 'Class, what would you like to be when you grow up?'
Children: Policeman, Teacher, Fireman...(these are among the famous ambitions lah konon)

During that era, my ambition was to be a teacher. I would play 'cikgu-cikgu' at home with some of my kampung friends, but you know what...I have a problem with my temper. Being the last of just three siblings, I think that's normal. When I was a bit older, being around with my nephews & nieces, I realized that to be a teacher is a bad idea. During my primary school, I decided that I want to be a...Policewoman...wah! I told my father about it and he said 'Janganlah'...never ask why though, but I guess being a Policeman himself, he knows the pros & cons. Secondary school...change my mind...Stewardess pula...no harm bah kan. Ha..ha..ha..I know it will never happen coz my size at that time was...emmmm...BIG.... Well now, I'm not in any of the above mentioned careers but I'm doing pretty well and happy but at the same time still craving for more. As a mother of two energetic, imaginative and ambitious children, I certainly will guide them through decisions making.

I know a man whose parents insisted him to be a Policeman which is not the man's choice. I know the parents means well & wanted their son to have a good & establish career but what if the son is not interested. Since the man has no full time job & because he wanted to please the parents, so he applied & managed to get a place in the Police Training Center...but of course still not happy lah. During his training, he did, a couple of times, appealed to the mother, but still the mother said no. One of his friend ran away from the training center because of the same problem. I really pity the man. Do you have any comments on this?

Hi Cora..I remember when I was small when teacher asking what my ambition and I answer.. I want to be a singer! LOL....a singer konon..As for the story about the man..sometimes it is quite not right to force someone to become somebody...But sometimes it works! Yeah..its happend to my brother in Law (Who is a PGA- polis juga lah), Force by parents to become police (bcoz his father is a police pangkat besarrr)..and today he is still a PGA and I can say doing well.
