When I grow up, I would like to be a .......

Sorry for not updating my blog, bukan sengaja tau. O.k, today I would like to talk about ones 'AMBITION' or 'CAREER'. I still remember when I was in kindergarten, the teacher asked:-

Teacher: 'Class, what would you like to be when you grow up?'
Children: Policeman, Teacher, Fireman...(these are among the famous ambitions lah konon)

During that era, my ambition was to be a teacher. I would play 'cikgu-cikgu' at home with some of my kampung friends, but you know what...I have a problem with my temper. Being the last of just three siblings, I think that's normal. When I was a bit older, being around with my nephews & nieces, I realized that to be a teacher is a bad idea. During my primary school, I decided that I want to be a...Policewoman...wah! I told my father about it and he said 'Janganlah'...never ask why though, but I guess being a Policeman himself, he knows the pros & cons. Secondary school...change my mind...Stewardess pula...no harm bah kan. Ha..ha..ha..I know it will never happen coz my size at that time was...emmmm...BIG.... Well now, I'm not in any of the above mentioned careers but I'm doing pretty well and happy but at the same time still craving for more. As a mother of two energetic, imaginative and ambitious children, I certainly will guide them through decisions making.

I know a man whose parents insisted him to be a Policeman which is not the man's choice. I know the parents means well & wanted their son to have a good & establish career but what if the son is not interested. Since the man has no full time job & because he wanted to please the parents, so he applied & managed to get a place in the Police Training Center...but of course still not happy lah. During his training, he did, a couple of times, appealed to the mother, but still the mother said no. One of his friend ran away from the training center because of the same problem. I really pity the man. Do you have any comments on this?

Internet Down......again

It has been 3 weeks since the line in the office is down. They say there is a problem with the fiber optic cable and have to wait for the contractor to do the necessary things. Due to this, it would take me sometime to update my blog, since at the moment I can only do it at home. So, to all my blogger friends, please leave your comments and I will get back to you whenever I can.

Sweet Old Friends

My whole body is still aching from the looong journey. I really need a good massage now.....that's what I long for. I received Rosie's sms on Wednesday regarding another raya open house. The invitation was from Famila Kee, another long lost friend. The last time we met was in 1995/1996 in ITM Menggatal. Sorry I didn't reply your sms Rosie....no credit bah. Rosie got hold of me on Friday and we plan to meet up at Likas Shell station at about 7 pm. When we arrived at the house, some of the gals are already there.....and you know what happen when all the gals are together......we were the loudest group.....the other invitees must be talking about us that nite. Meeting old friends, flashed back the old days, getting the latest news, plus the fireworks display from 1Borneo.....it was a wonderful nite. We plan to hold a gathering in the future. Some photos that were taken that nite....

Trip To Tawau

About 22 of us from the office were given the chance to go to Tawau last Saturday.....well actually, we were instructed to go to Kunak to visit one of our officer who is suffering from kidney problem.....oh did I mention that we went by road. We left K.K about 7 am, arrived Ranau about 9:30 am, at 11:08 am arrived Telupid, had our lunch at Checkpoint at about 12:30 pm. We were in Kinabatangan at around 2 pm, reached Lahad Datu at 3 pm and arrived Kunak at abou 4:30 pm. We left Kunak about 45 minutes later and only arrived in Tawau at 7:30 pm. It was a one day journey and we were all tired. Since we have to stick to our limited budget, we stayed in one of the budget hotel in Tawau. My last trip to Tawau was two decades ago with my parents so this was a chance that I could and should not resist.

On the second day, we went to Tanjung Pasar Tawau, it's like our wet market in K.K lah. You can find so many things in TPT, especially products from Indonesia. For me, my main objective was to buy Amplang and salted fish.....I also bought some Kedondong & mangoes. Our journey back to K.K was on 13/10/2008. Here are some photos that I took during the trip...

Raya Open House

Most of my muslim colleague are still on raya leave....including my boss. So, in order to make ourselves busy....we went to raya open houses. Oh, the food was wonderful. I purposely skip breakfast so that I can indulge myself with all the yummy food.

On the 3rd day of raya, one of my bestest friend, Pame, called to inform that our 'long lost friend' Jackie, invited us to her raya open house on Saturday @ 7:30 pm (the next day). Hey....why not, it had been ages since we last met her, Pame promised to get back to me after she contacted another bestest friend, Rosie. To make the story short, I fetched Pame in Kibabaing on Saturday and waited for Rosie at Grace Point. With the help of Abang Sikuriti, we arrived at Jackie's apartment at about 7:30 pm. We talked about so many things....reminiscence about the old school days, it was wonderful. Thanks Jackie for inviting us to your house. We had a great time with you and your wonderful family.
